Celebrating fusion music from the 1970s and 1980s
Elegant People was founded in 2020 to celebrate the fusion music of the 1970s and 1980s, while at the same time bringing this timeless music to a new audience. The music of Weather Report, Pat Metheny, Miles Davis, John Abercrombie and many others combined Jazz harmonies and improvisation with funky grooves, Latin and rock rhythms, creating what came to be known as fusion music.
Elegant People have embraced this style of music, giving it new life and exposure, while still being true to the old school sounds and effects. The repertoire is a fabulous mix of fusion hits and soundscapes, giving the audience a brief but carefully curated journey back to the heydays of fusion.
